First-Year & Sophomores Students

Naila Mamoon, MBBS, PhD, Director of Premedicine and Allied Health Professions and Assistant Professor of Health and Human Values. Dr. Mamoon will discuss prehealth professions course planning and how you can cultivate the entry level competencies that health professions graduate programs seek in applicants.  This information session is recommended for freshmen and sophomores who are interested in careers in medicine, dentistry, physician assistant study, veterinary medicine, nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, pharmacy, and optometry and would like to officially be on the prehealth professions track. You will also have the opportunity to hear form a panel of 银河电子注册平台 alumni. Panelists are Matrika Johnson, '02, M.D., Reproductive Endocrinology, OB/GYN Associates of Charlotte; Tom Campen '73, M.D., Campen Eyecare; and Michael Thomason '74, M.D. (Retired), Trauma, Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery, Atrium Hospital.  In addition, there will be representatives from the Center for Career Development (CCD), the Center for Civic Engagement (CCE), the Office of Education Abroad and the Academic Access & Disability Resources Office (AADR) who will share information about how they can support you in your journey. There will be an opportunity for incoming students to hear from officers of various prehealth societies on campus.
